About Tosh Lubek
Tosh Lubek has worked in broadcasting, audio, and video production since 1982, when he was part of the start-up team that launched Moray Firth Radio (MFR) in Inverness. He subsequently moved to Northsound Radio in Aberdeen, and in 2003 joined the management team of West Sound (Ayr), West FM (Ayr), and South West Sound (Dumfries).
In 2010 he set up his own company, Tosh Lubek Productions, to create radio and television commercials for local and national clients, as well website videos, and video training courses, both face-to-face and online. After successfully launching video training courses on Udemy, Tosh Lubek launched diyvideostudio.com as a free information resource to help small business owners and YouTubers to improve the quality of their social media videos and podcasts.
Audio and video are Tosh’s professional passions, but his personal passions also include food and cookery, as his waistline can testify. He learned about Polish cooking from his mother, and when he moved to Scotland, he took to Scottish cuisine in a big way, even taking part in the making of cooking radio shows at Northsound Radio and West Sound. Having got the taste for creating websites, Tosh decided to launch a cookery website of his own, where he could share his decades of cooking knowledge, and so kitchenacorns.com was born
Tosh had used a couple of well-known hosting companies for these websites, but technical help had always been an issue. Things came to a head when a major problem arose, and customer help’s response was, “that’s not our problem”. That’s when Alex Cooper at WP Eagle stepped in and asked Spidrweb’s Phil Lankester to assist. As it turned out, it wasn’t a huge problem and Phil quickly sorted it, making a few useful suggestions along the way. It was therefore a no-brainer decision to move the hosting to Spidrweb. After the move, all the sites ran faster, helping them to grow traffic, More importantly, Tosh was able to concentrate on creating content instead of worrying about technical stuff.
